Tres Amigos - Oil on Board - 9" x 12"

Painting "Plein Air" can be fun because you usually go out with a buddy or two and look for the best spots to paint. You often have lunch afterwards and discuss art and why your paintings aren't selling! Anyway, I have a few pictures of some friends who I went out painting with last week. The painting to the right is what I did that day with some heightening of color in the studio. When you go out and paint, it is hard to "see" color intensity. It isn't until after your in your studio that you realize that the colors are not strong enough to carry the composition. The "Tres Amigos" - three friends - are the ocotillo which are all over the desert and in bloom with their little red flags flying in the breeze.
