This painting was done for a plein air painting competion in Julian, California. The object was to paint Julian and its surrounds. San Ysabel Preserve, North is just northwest of Julian. The hills were golden that day and the painting painted itself. It was juried into the show and exhibited at The Julian Art Gallery.
