The Other Side of the Sierras - Oil on Board - 18" x 14"

This is the under painting in the verdaccio method.  I made my own gesso from Marble Dust and Rabbit Skin Glue.  The final results after several glazes and opaque application is below. This painting can be seen at Wilde Meyer Gallery, Scottsdale/Tucson, Arizona

This is wonderful, Judith--so luminous. Reminds me a bit of Peter Hurd's temperas--maybe because he used similar glazing in this classical manner.
