Gates Pass at Sunset - Pastel on Board - 12" x 16"

I just finished this pastel. It started off as a plein air painting. It was my first time taking out pastels instead of oil paint. I just couldn't get it. The composition was there but I was trying to dramatize the colors and was having a hard time. So, when I took it back to the studio, I lived with it for a couple of days and then decided to make it into a sunset. It is much better now but I can't call it a plein air painting because a plein air painting should be done to almost completion on the spot. This pastel painting is: $275.
