I did this painting looking at one of the southern most tips of California. There is a reserve there and very beautiful. I was painting with my friend Stef who is lots of fun. We drove down there, had lunch - she is a "foodie" like me and then drove around for the "perfect" spot. I swear that most plein air painters are on the road at this moment looking for the "perfect" spot. I wonder how much money we spend in gas...hmm. This painting is done in high key color and muted somewhat to reflect the light there. I had a great time painting it.
