Lake Powell #3 - oil on board - 7" x 10"
Hello...this painting is the other that I mentioned in an earlier post. This has more of the up close and personal feel of the canyon. The canyon walls are spectacular and you can tell by looking at them where the indigenous Indians got their designs for their jewelry and clothing.
Beautiful. I love all the lake Powell pieces. You do a wonderful job of keeping your color so clean and accurate. I really like how the sharp edges of the foreground brushstrokes get across that sharp rock feeling.
I am an artist living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I enjoy the light of the area, beautiful clouds and sunsets. I paint landscapes, figures and still life but primarily landscapes. Weather permitting, I prefer painting outdoors. Once I have a good field sketch, I will take that back to the studio to make a larger version. I paint every day and try to post something new here or on my website as often as possible. You can also see a full compliment of my work at my website, http://www.landscapepainting.us. Feel free to email me with any questions you might have at dagostinofineart@gmail.com. Thanks for looking!
